Collaboration between the leading university and the largest integrated energy producer in South-East Europe intensifies under the umbrella of the “Energizing know-how” Strategic Partnership

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking expansion of the strategic partnership between the Bucharest University of Economic Studies(ASE) and OMV Petrom, the leading integrated energy producer in Southeast Europe. Under the theme ‘Energizing Know How’, this partnership seeks to to develop educational opportunities that promote innovation in the economic and energy sectors 📚💡

This partnership will feature initiatives such as the creation of the first professional case studies about a Romanian company tailored for academic teaching, supporting ASE’s pursuit of triple international accreditation, and continuously updating the university curriculum with cutting-edge technology and learning opportunities in SAP, Data Science, and Project Management.

Launched on April 4, 2024, at Petrom City, this event was marked by the presence of esteemed guests including Alina Popa, CFO of OMV Petrom, and Prof. Alina-Mihaela Dima, Vice-Rector for Research, Development, and Innovation at ASE, along with numerous leadership representatives from both Petrom and ASE, including dean Tănase Stamule and dean Vasile Strat, as well as other faculty members, and over 80 students from BT, BBS, CIG, CSIE, EAM & FABIZ.

OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, with an annual Group hydrocarbon production of approximately 41 million boe in 2023. The Group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons annually and operates an 860 MW high-efficiency gas-fired power plant. Since 2007, OMV Petrom has included corporate responsibility principles into its business strategy. Between 2007 and 2023, the company has allocated around 160 million euro to develop communities in Romania, focusing on environmental protection, education, health, and local development.
On July 29th, 2020, OMV Petrom announced its support for the recommendations issued by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) regarding risks and opportunities on climate change. OMV Petrom annually reports on the progress made in implementing these recommendations.
