Joint PhD Programme with EM Strasbourg Business School

On 24 March 2026, doctoral candidate Nicolae Marius VAVURĂ, from the Doctoral School of Business Administration II at the Faculty of Business Administration taught in Foreign Languages (FABIZ), successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled A Tiered Digitalisation Framework for Innovation and Sustainable Business Growth. The thesis was developed as part of a double-degree doctoral programme agreed between ASE-FABIZ and EM Strasbourg Business School, under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Carmen Păunescu and Prof. Dr. Jessie Pallud.

Doctoral Research Seminar held by Prof. Shirish Srivastava, HEC Paris

On 23 March 2026, the Doctoral School of Business Administration II, within the Faculty of Business Administration taught in Foreign Languages, hosted a scientific seminar for its doctoral students, delivered by Prof. Shirish C. Srivastava from HEC Paris. The seminar, entitled “Publishing in Top Tier Management Journals: An Editor’s Perspective”, guided participants through the academic publishing process, from structuring an article and avoiding common mistakes to concrete practical examples. The interactive format, with questions and exchanges of ideas, turned the event into a valuable experience for the academic development of the doctoral students.

Prof. Shirish C. Srivastava serves as Senior Editor at the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and the European Journal of Information Systems, as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management Information Systems, and as Associate Editor at Information Systems Research. He also serves as a member of the Operational Committee of the HI! PARIS Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Doctoral workshop

On the 6th of May 2025, the Doctoral School of Business Administration II hosted an ad-hoc doctoral workshop with participation of two PhD supervisors with a broad international experience: Prof. Dr. Gilles LAMBERT – University of Strasbourg, France and Prof. Dr. Léo Paul DANA – Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. Participants enjoyed a vibrant and exciting experience, exchanging thoughts about varied challenges of doctoral research and doctoral community.

On the 5th of May 2025, room Virgil Madgearu, PhD candidate Enikő MÁTYUS defended her doctoral thesis entitled “The role of business incubators supporting small cities for sustainable regional development”, under co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Carmen PĂUNESCU – Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania and Prof. Dr. Gilles LAMBERT – University of Strasbourg, France, as part of the double degree programme agreed between the two institutions.
